Nexus vs ProBot.

ProBot is famous for image-based welcome cards — they look great and they convert. Nexus ships the same welcome capability and bundles everything else a community needs: AI commands, contextual moderation, tickets, leveling. Here's a side-by-side.

NNexus
ProBot
TL;DR — pick the right one
NPick Nexus if

you want polished welcome cards AND everything else (AI commands, full moderation, tickets, leveling) under one flat price. Best if you're scaling beyond a single server and want one bot doing the whole job.

Pick ProBot if

your only need is beautiful welcome cards with custom backgrounds for a single server, and you don't mind ProBot's branded free tier or paying Premium to unlock the rest.

Pricing

Welcome cards plus everything else.

ProBot's free tier ships welcome cards with the ProBot brand on them; Premium removes branding and unlocks the rest. Nexus puts the full bot in one flat plan, no branding on welcome embeds.

Migration

Switch in 5 minutes.

You don't have to do it all at once. Run both bots side-by-side, replicate features one by one, then disable ProBot.

  1. Install Nexus alongside ProBot

One-click invite from getnexus.me. Both bots can sit on your server while you migrate — keep ProBot's welcome cards live until Nexus's are ready.

  2. Rebuild your welcome card

Open the AI Command Builder and describe the welcome you want: "send a welcome card with the member's avatar, server name, and a 'Welcome to {server}' line". Nexus generates the embed + image template in seconds — no Premium upgrade required.

  3. Replicate the rest of your bot stack

If you were also using ProBot for moderation, custom commands or reaction roles, describe each one to the AI builder. ProBot's keyword automod becomes Nexus's contextual AI automod; ProBot's custom commands map to Nexus's slash commands with variables, conditions and HTTP calls.

  4. Disable ProBot and kick when ready

As each Nexus feature replaces its ProBot equivalent, switch off the ProBot module. When the welcome card is migrated and the rest is in place, kick ProBot. Zero downtime, zero data loss for the features you've moved.

Feature comparison

About switching from ProBot.

The questions every ProBot user asks before migrating. Still need answers? Ask in our Discord.

  • Yes. Nexus ships full welcome embeds with member avatars, server stats, custom backgrounds and variable placeholders — and unlike ProBot, you don't need to pay Premium to remove a bot brand from them. ProBot has a longer track record on extremely custom welcome image layouts; for 95% of communities, Nexus's welcome cards look as polished and cost nothing extra.

  • As of 2026, ProBot's free welcome cards include ProBot branding by default, and removing it is a Premium feature. Nexus's free tier doesn't brand your welcome embeds — your server, your message, no bot watermark. Always double-check both products' current docs since these policies move.

  • Yes for the core overlap: custom commands, moderation, reaction roles, leveling, audit logs and a dashboard. Nexus adds AI command generation and a full ticket system that ProBot doesn't bundle natively. The one feature ProBot has that Nexus doesn't is built-in music playback — Discord's API restrictions make it expensive to operate well, so we've prioritised other capabilities.

  • ProBot's automod is keyword-based with a settings panel for spam, link and word filtering. Nexus uses contextual AI moderation that reads the meaning of a message — so it catches paraphrased slurs and coded harassment that keyword filters miss, with fewer false positives on slang and edge cases. Both run server-side and neither stores message content beyond the moderation decision.

  • Nexus Pro is €5/month for 15 servers, flat. ProBot Premium is roughly $5/month or higher per server (as of 2026), and you'd still be paying for features that come with the base Nexus Pro plan. For one server the prices are similar; for 2+ servers, or once you factor in tickets/AI/leveling, Nexus is meaningfully cheaper.
